Senior Systems Administrator
We’re looking for a proactive innovator
who’s ready to leverage their experience in enterprise-level systems
administration to maintain and improve our technical infrastructure and drive
exceptional service delivery to our roster of clients.
As Senior Systems Administrator, you’ll
work directly with our Manager of Information Technology to recommend, develop,
and implement technical solutions in a wide range of systems. As an outsourcer,
our clients come to us with diverse suites of technologies to be integrated
with our environment, presenting unique challenges and the opportunity to work
with a number of cutting-edge tools.
We’re looking for someone who is confident
bringing forward solutions and ideas and who isn’t afraid to think outside of
the box. You’ll need to be forward-looking and proactive to anticipate
challenges with the communication skills to effectively express your
recommendations. A collaborative attitude and the ability to explain complex
technical concepts in lay terms will be critical to your success in working
with our operational and support teams.

Here’s The Deal
- This is a full-time salaried
position with paid vacation, option for RRSP contribution plan, and health
benefits package
- This position can be remote
work-from-home or office-based at our headquarters in Halifax, Nova Scotia
- We have a free employee and

- You will participate in the IT
on-call rotation schedule as required
What You’ll Do
- Be a force for continual
improvement by developing high level understanding of our tools, systems, and
environment and make recommendations to enhance service delivery, efficiency,
security, and upgrades
- Serve as a technical expert in the area of system administration for
complex systems in a large organization – including monitoring of IT system
performance and operations
- Perform installation, configuration and maintenance of software
including operating system, patches, and 3rd party products
- Lead ongoing cloud adoption;
develop and maintain public and private cloud infrastructure
- Deepen our pool of resources
for service desk requests by resolving escalated issues and mentoring internal
IT team to expand existing skill sets
- Develop, document, and communicate IT policies
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Experience + Hard Skills
- Demonstrated success in a
senior administrative position in an enterprise environment
- Experience working with server
operating systems including Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, and DNS
- Extensive knowledge of Office
365 with a deep understanding of Hybrid Exchange environments
- Demonstrated success designing
and implementing services on AWS
- Familiarity with Citrix Virtual
Apps and Desktops
- Experience in voice platforms
and/or contact centre environments is an asset
- Experience with VEEAM Backup
and Restore is an asset
Soft Skills
- Excellent time management and
organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with
shifting priorities
- Strong interpersonal and
communication skills with proactive approach to customer service
- Self-motivated with a strong
independent work ethic
Certifications – any of the below are
considered assets but are not required
- Amazon Certified Solutions Architect
- Microsoft 365 Identity and Services
- Citrix Certification(s)
- VMWare VCP
- ITIL V3. Foundation
